Washington, D.C., part one

I spent a week in Washington, D.C., from April 4th until the 12th. It was a fantastic experience. The cherry blossoms opened while I was there. I spent a lot of time outdoors. After a gray and dreary winter, being outdoors amidst the cherry blossoms was a huge delight. The weather became very hot and I thought that I was going to lose weight the old fashioned way (sweat it off), but not an ounce did I shed.
Here are a few pictures from my adventure. There are many more to follow, along with stories.
Old buildings, columns, and cherry trees in full bloom...

Cherry trees lined up in front of a Congressional office building

U.S. capitol building...

A delicate pink and green...

More blossoms and a view down the street
