Independence Day images

Last night, I went with my friends Amy, Bev, and Jo to watch the Buffalo Bisons (Buffalo's AAA baseball team) play against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Following the game, we were treated to music with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, as well as a display of fireworks.

This morning, I went to watch and photograph the Grand Island, New York, Independence Day parade that featured dancers, farmers (with agricultural equipment on a float), bagpipers, baton twirlers, and more.

Many people came out for these events, to celebrate Independence Day and to enjoy a summer's day with family and friends. They like to dress up in red, white, and blue. The kids like to collect the candy that is thrown to them from many of the marchers and floats. It was a fun event to photograph.

Unfortunately, the Bisons lost the game by the score of 3 to 2. They will do better next time. Go Bisons!!!

Here are some of the images.

You got some great shots of the ball game and I love your parade photos. Looks like you had a great time at both!

Neat pics! My favorites were some of the parade pics and the one at the game where the kid had his face painted.

Looks fun and a great way to celebrate the 4th of July! Great photos, as if I was there to witness the moment.
