Synopsis of yesterday's post: Today and yesterday, I've been talking about taking a break from the election (feel free to vote if you are a registered voter in the United States). (If you don't live in the United States, I am very sorry that this tedious spectacle was inflicted on you.) This process has been virtually endless and it's caused a great deal of stress and anxiety. Yesterday, I talked about some of the books that I really enjoyed. Books have the ability to transport you to different times and different places. They can help you see the world through the eyes of other people, who may not experience the world as you do.
Today, I am going to give you some hints on how to handle a "difficult mental health day."
Take a long walk
Go to a farmers market
dig in the soil. smell it and feel its texture
spend time with a small child
Look for flowers. There are still flowers growing early in November.
At long last.
Your turn! In the comments section below, feel free to share something about your favorite book or some way that you have of coping with a difficult mental health day. I will share these in a future blog post.
