The 52-week photography project: green

The theme for week 24 of the 52-week photography project is green.

This is the third color theme of the project thus far. The other two colors were orange and purple. Dogwood Photography of North Carolina, the organizer of the photography project, describes green as the color of life, hope, and nature.

At this time of the year,
Woods Creek is very green.

Wetland at Buckhorn Island State Park

Green is generally seen as a positive color because it's the color of the grass and the leaves on the trees. There are really only a few things unappealing about green:

• green is the color of mold. Cheese gets moldy but you can cut out the mold and eat the rest. Bread gets moldy and it's a little harder to cut out the mold. 
• a green sky is something that you don't want to see.  It could be telling you that a tornado is on its way. On the other hand, you might appreciate the warning, which could give you time to go to the basement, which is considered the safest place in a tornado.

Downtown Buffalo. Even the watering bag is green.

Kenmore, New York. Green shutters on a blue house is something that I find very attractive because I love the combination of green and blue (it reminds me of trees reaching to sky colors).

Chairs in a lovely shade of green.
