If I could go anywhere...

Today's blogging prompt is to talk about a place that I would like to visit. A place to dream about. A place that belongs on a bucket list. Some place that is beautiful and far away. It's been two and a half years since I traveled anywhere, and I am feeling the pull of wanderlust. The world is full of adventure and beauty but, since March 2020, I have only been able to travel in my imagination.

I am still traveling in my imagination. Today, my journey takes me to Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. The park is a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Site. According to the UNESCO website, water flowing over limestone and chalk has, over the course of many years, produced lakes, waterfalls, and caverns. The park is full of wildlife, with the most well known being the brown bear. One of the most famous native fish species is the brown trout. And of course, there are butterflies. You'll find such species as the southern festoon, Osiris blue, and the Ilex hairstreak. The Osiris blue is a luminous shade of blue.

This park looks like a great place to explore, to see wildlife, and to satisfy some of that wanderlust. When it's possible to travel again, that is. Until that point, I will continue to share my adventures of being close to home and of exploring these spaces.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Wow that park sounds neat and I love the images you chose for this blog. While I have been fortunate to have traveled a lot and have big dreams of places to go and explore, the place I want most to travel right now is to visit family and HUG them! Some I haven't seen in person since summer of 2019...

Croatia sounds beautiful. Wonderful writing, I felt like I was along for the daydream in your mind. My wish for you, is one day you will have the opportunity to make your dream a reality and you will be writing your blog from Croatia:) I too am itching to travel, my first trip is to San Diego and have a couple more in the works!
