sunflowers (almost #WordlessWednesdays)

Ah! sunflower, weary of time,

Who countest the steps of the sun,

Seeking after that sweet golden clime

Where the traveller’s journey is done;

Where the youth pined away with desire,

And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,

Arise from their graves and aspire;

Where my sunflower wishes to go.

--William Blake (1757-1827)

Alice, wow! I'm coming to you, if I want sunflower images! These are great! Very uplifting.

Lovely sunflowers. I haven't grown them for a long time but I do have some Jerusalem artichokes which do have sunflower like blooms and the roots are edible.

WOW those are absolutely stunning! I especially love the ones with the bee!

I agree w/Kebba and think Lily's idea is stellar.You should shown Martha the "sunflower with bee" water color you did and really "wow" her. Can you grow Jerusalem artichokes in a pot? If so. let's try it. I'll look the method up online if you, my master gardener, will vet it.
